ESS Trading (“ESS”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to conducting business responsibly and ethically with all suppliers, vendors, and business partners. This Supplier / Vendor Code of Conduct establishes the minimum standards and expectations for ethical, legal, social, and environmental practices that our business partners must follow.
1. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
Suppliers and vendors must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards in the UAE and other jurisdictions where they operate.
2. Ethical Business Practices
Suppliers must conduct business with honesty, integrity, and fairness. Bribery, corruption, fraud, or any unethical practices are strictly prohibited.
3. Labor and Human Rights
Suppliers must:
Respect human rights and labor laws
Ensure no child labor or forced labor is used
Provide a safe, healthy, and non-discriminatory working environment
Treat employees fairly, including proper compensation and working conditions
4. Environmental Responsibility
Suppliers are expected to minimize environmental impact by:
Complying with applicable environmental laws and regulations
Managing waste, emissions, and resource usage responsibly
Promoting sustainable business practices
5. Health and Safety
Suppliers must maintain high standards of health and safety in their operations to protect employees, contractors, and visitors.
6. Confidentiality and Data Protection
Suppliers must protect confidential information and personal data obtained during the course of business with ESS Trading and comply with applicable data protection laws.
7. Conflict of Interest
Suppliers must avoid any situations where personal or business interests could conflict with ESS Trading’s interests and promptly disclose any potential conflicts.
8. Monitoring and Compliance
ESS Trading reserves the right to monitor suppliers’ compliance with this Code of Conduct. Non-compliance may result in corrective actions, suspension, or termination of the business relationship.
9. Reporting
Suppliers are encouraged to report unethical behavior, violations, or suspected misconduct related to their operations or interactions with ESS Trading. Reports can be made confidentially.
10. Review and Updates
This Supplier / Vendor Code of Conduct is reviewed periodically and updated as necessary to reflect changes in laws, regulations, or business standards.
